SAFETY
For times when avoidance just isn't enough, Eclipse Coupe comes standard with advanced front airbags, seat-mounted side impact airbags and roof-mounted side curtain airbags for front seat occupants giving you a total of six standard airbags.†
Eclipse's impressive handling and braking capabilities will go a long way toward helping you avoid the unexpected. But should a collision occur, Eclipse is outfitted with a variety of active and passive safety features that also offer reassuring performance. Eclipse's extremely rigid body features high-strength structural members in the side sills, behind the dash and across the rear floor.
In a moderate to severe frontal collision, driver and front seat passenger seat belt pretensioners draw back the seat belt webbing and increase performance. Force limiters help reduce the force applied to the driver and front seat passenger during an accident.
† Airbags can cause serious injury or death to anyone too close to an Airbag when it deploys. To decrease the risk of injury from a deploying Airbag, all occupants must be properly restrained and seated well back, upright and in the middle of the seat. Do not lean against the door. Always place children 12 and under in the rear seat and use appropriate child restraints. Never place a rear-facing infant restraint in the front seat. See your Owner's Manual and instructions provided with your child restraint for more information.
