The Outlander nameplate achieved 1,465 sales for the month, 432 of which were Outlander PHEV. RVR reached new sales heights with 1,103 deliveries and Eclipse Cross rounded out the month with its best sales to date with 752 units delivered. “In many ways, fiscal 2018 has been a landmark year for Mitsubishi Motors in Canada,” said Juyu Jeon, president and CEO, Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada, Inc. “We have created a formidable SUV lineup, and in particular, Outlander PHEV has broken new ground and has proven that there is appetite for affordable plug-in hybrid SUVs in Canada. As we look to the year ahead, we continue to build a foundation for future growth rooted in new values for SUV, EV and technology, and an enhanced customer experience in partnership with our dealers.”

Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada launched the Eclipse Cross and Outlander PHEV in 2018 effectively doubling its SUV lineup. In the short time Outlander PHEV has been in the Canadian marketplace, it has broken industry records as the first plug-in hybrid to reach 5,000 sales in a calendar year. It is estimated that 1 in 4 Canadians who purchased a plug-in hybrid in Canada purchased an Outlander PHEV and a good majority of plug-in hybrid SUVs sold in the country were Outlander PHEV. Outlander PHEV has the distinction of standing alone in its class as the only affordable plug-in hybrid SUV in the marketplace with a standard quick-charging port and 100 percent electric 4WD capability.
