Car driving down a road

ENGINEERING MILESTONES

Mitsubishi Motors takes pride in being at the forefront of technological innovation. Explore the engineering milestones that have set us apart from the competition and continue to keep us on the cutting edge.

Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC)

Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) features multiple drive modes for a multitude of driving conditions, which provides the ultimate control for the driver. Different modes can include: NORMAL for everyday conditions, TARMAC for quicker response on dry and winding roads, SNOW for wintry conditions, MUD for off-road, GRAVEL for loose terrain and the ECO Mode which provides the ultimate balance of efficiency and control.

All-Wheel Control (AWC)

All-Wheel Control continuously monitors the road and intelligently transfers power to the wheels with the most traction to improve handling in the most challenging conditions, including driving on snow or ice.

MIVEC Engine Technology

Mitsubishi Motors' Innovative Valve Timing Electronic Control (MIVEC) system optimizes valve timing at every speed for the ideal balance of power and fuel efficiency.

Intelligent & Innovative Vehicle Electronic Control System (INVECS) Adaptive Shift Control Technology

Mitsubishi Motors' innovative INVECS Adaptive Shift Control software adapts transmission behaviour to your driving conditions. Through advanced electronic programming, INVECS learns your driving habits and responds accordingly by altering shift points. The result is a vehicle that knows how you like to drive and optimizes your experience behind the wheel.

Always Connected

MITSUBISHI CONNECT provides you a more convenient and safe ownership experience. A handy mobile app lets you send remote commands from your smartphone to perform functions like setting the cabin temperature or finding your vehicle in a parking lot. Plus, in-vehicle buttons let you connect directly with the MITSUBISHI CONNECT call centre in case roadside assistance or emergency services are needed.

Electric Past, Present and Future

We are pioneers in vehicle electrification. Starting way back in the 1970s, we believed that we could create a more vibrant and sustainable way of mobility. In other words, the more efficient ways we have of getting around, the better we’ll all be. From our first-ever mass-produced electric vehicle to our cutting-edge plug-in hybrid technology, we’re leading the way in electric mobility.

Active Stability and Traction Control (ASC)

As a standard safety feature in all Mitsubishi vehicles, Active Stability and Traction Control helps drivers maintain control in adverse driving conditions and during emergency manoeuvres. Employing a series of sensors, ASC constantly monitors available traction and alerts the control unit, which works with the vehicle's anti-lock braking system to counteract slipping or loss of control by applying the brakes on specific wheels to help keep the vehicle moving in the intended direction.

MiEV Technology

The result of four decades of research, Mitsubishi innovative Electric Vehicle (MiEV) technology is an integrated management system that constantly monitors and optimizes the flow of energy throughout the car. MiEV technology creates smooth and constant acceleration, distributes incoming energy from the regenerative brakes and continuously regulates the output from the battery.
