MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER PHEV SALES SPIKE WITH FEDERAL EV INCENTIVE PROGRAM
Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada, Inc. reported a spike in Outlander PHEV sales following the launch of the federal government’s iZEV electrified vehicle incentive program. The rebate program gives Canadians an additional $2,500 rebate on top of any available provincial EV rebates and Mitsubishi Motors retail incentives on all Outlander PHEV price lines.
Mitsubishi Motors delivered 620 Outlander PHEV in the month of May which is a 23 per cent increase month over month. Since its Model Year 2018 debut, 7230 Outlander PHEVs have been delivered to Canadians. It is the world’s and Canada’s top-selling plug-in hybrid. There are more than 200,000 Outlander PHEVs on the road today around the world.
“Outlander PHEV is an important vehicle for the electrified vehicle segment because its appeal goes well beyond the consumer who is an early adopter,” said Juyu Jeon, president and CEO, Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada, Inc. “For the first time, thousands of Canadians are plugging in and realizing the joy of driving 100 per cent electric without range anxiety and compromises to utility or four-wheel drive. It is the first step to a new way of mobility and this important vehicle has paved the way for many. The federal incentive has helped expand awareness of what Outlander PHEV is capable of.”
Mitsubishi delivered 481 RVR last month, followed by 413 Outlander and 409 Eclipse Cross deliveries. The subcompact Mirage hatchback and G4 sedan combined for 248 sales in May bringing total sales for the month to 2,171.
