OUTLANDER BRAND REACHES 100,000 SALES MILESTONE
Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada, Inc. announced today that the Outlander brand – Outlander and Outlander PHEV – has achieved the key milestone of 100,000+ sales in September.
“Without question Outlander is Mitsubishi Motors hero brand with both Outlander and Outlander PHEV offering SUV options to Canadians looking for fuel efficient travel that can take them anywhere. We are thrilled to have reached this important milestone particularly now as we look to transform what it means to be Mitsubishi Motors and Outlander in the years ahead,” said Paul Simmonds, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada, Inc.
Outlander has been pivotal to Mitsubishi Motors success in Canada since the company’s launch in 2002 and remains Mitsubishi Motors most recognized nameplate in Canada. Year-after-year the Outlander has won the hearts of Canadians as one of the rare compact SUVs to offer three-rows and a V-6 engine, available with Mitsubishi Motors highly regarded proprietary Super All-Wheel Control system.
New to Outlander for Model Year 2020 is a large 8-inch audio touchscreen with Android Auto™ & Apple CarPlay, Super All-Wheel Control and three rows which are all standard on all price lines.
Giving a boost to the Outlander brand is Outlander PHEV whose launch in 2018 was a first-to-market technological tour de force resulting in record breaking sales for Mitsubishi and the plug-in hybrid segment.
As of last month, Outlander has sold 91,933 vehicles since its launch in 2002 and Outlander PHEV has sold 8,780 vehicles to date since its launch in 2018 for total sales of 100,713.
Mitsubishi Outlander leads sales for the month of September with 913 deliveries last month – a September record for the nameplate. Eclipse Cross follows with a record September with 595 deliveries helping it achieve a record quarter. Mitsubishi RVR reached 403 sales and rounding out the SUV line-up is Outlander PHEV with 319 sales. Mirage subcompact car and Mirage G4 sedan reached 146 vehicles deliveries last month. In total 2,376 Mitsubishi Motors vehicles were delivered for the month for a 16 per cent increase in sales over last year, just shy of 2014’s record September.
