The Active Blind Spot Assist feature adds to the blind spot warning system by detecting other vehicles in the surrounding lanes that drivers may not be able to see. After an initial warning, the system will gently apply the brakes, potentially avoiding collisions.

The Outlander PHEV’s rear sonar sensors can detect objects behind the vehicle. If something is too close, Rear Automatic Emergency Braking gives an audible warning and attempts to stop the vehicle, reducing the chance of an accident.
