Stu's Perfect Family Car: The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV
Most of my life at the moment revolves around family-related stuff. It can be hectic. I am the unpaid taxi driver or bus driver, whatever you wanna call it. I'm Stu and I'm a proud owner of a Mitsubishi plug-in hybrid. You've still got the gasoline engine, but you've got that potential to do my whole commute to and from work without any gasoline. You don't need a special charger. It's ideal. You just plugin at home overnight. That's it. Nothing fancy. Gas prices, you know what? I don't really look at them too much anymore.
Family, I mean, at this stage in my life, that's my be all and end all. I wanted something for a growing family, so something that was bigger that could fit my “getting giant” kids. I wanted something which I'm comfortable driving in, 'cause I'm the driver, so I wanted something that I enjoyed. The beauty of this, you've got the electric and the gasoline, and if you need to put your foot down, then both of them go on. You just go.
Canadians and Northern Australia, I think there's a similar mindset, especially the outdoors. There's that nice little family connection again, especially for me, 'cause I'm away working. Going camping. We've tried it out before. Just using it to plug in the laptop. We've used it for a small camping fridge as well. You have a blackout at home, you can plug stuff into your car. It's a good solid family car.
