On-Demand Performance, Outstanding Efficiency

The Outlander PHEV System automatically switches between electric and gas power to deliver exceptional on-demand performance and an outstanding 3.2Le/100 KM efficiency combined .
In EV Mode, the vehicle is powered by twin electric motors and energy is sourced exclusively from the lithium-ion battery pack on the Outlander PHEV. That's 100% electric-powered, zero-emission driving.
In Series Hybrid Mode, the gas-powered generator helps charge the lithium-ion battery pack to provide energy to the twin electric motors. The Outlander PHEV uses this mode when its battery runs low or when you need a quick burst of speed.
In situations that call for a little extra juice – like uphill driving – the Outlander PHEV switches into Parallel Drive Mode. In this mode, the 2.4L gas engine drives the front wheels while the rear electric motor drives the rear wheels.
