EVOLVING THE STANDARD FOR SAFETY

Every vehicle we build begins with prioritizing your family’s safety. And with more standard safety features and sophisticated technologies than ever before, the Outlander PHEV delivers maximum safety and peace of mind.

Evolved Safety Systems

The 2024 Outlander PHEV is equipped with a number of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) that use cutting-edge technologies to prevent or reduce the chance of collisions, making every drive safe for you and your loved ones.

MI-PILOT Assist

The MI-PILOT Assist™ system offers a suite of advanced driver assist systems that includes Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Stop & Go, Lane Keep Assist (LKA) and Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) working in concert to keep your vehicle centred in the lane of travel to reduce fatigue on long trips.

Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)

The Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) system can detect if a vehicle is approaching from the side while you’re backing up. It will alert you with flashing warning lights on both side mirrors, a buzzer that sounds in the cabin and a warning message that appears in the instrument cluster.

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Stop & Go uses radar technology to automatically adjust your vehicle’s cruising speed to maintain a set distance between you and the vehicle in front – even in stop-and-go traffic.

Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM)* with Pedestrian Detection

This system uses both laser radar and camera technology to determine if a frontal collision is imminent. If so, it warns you with audio and visual signals, and automatically applies moderate to emergency braking to reduce the severity of the collision and, if possible, prevent the collision altogether.

Blind Spot Warning (BSW)*

When a vehicle in the next lane is travelling at the same speed or faster in the detection areas, a warning light illuminates on the corresponding side mirror. If you switch on the turn signal, the warning light on the corresponding mirror will blink and a buzzer will sound to alert you that it is unsafe to change lanes.

MULTI-VIEW CAMERA SYSTEM

Keep A Bird’s Eye on Your Surroundings

The available multi-view camera system uses a series of cameras to give you a bird’s-eye view of your surroundings, making it easier than ever to park your vehicle – even in those downtown parking spots.

STANDARD 11 AIRBAGS

Safety from Every Angle

In addition to the typical seven airbags, the Outlander PHEV has been upgraded to include four extra airbags to help protect both the driver and passengers.
