Refreshed Outlander leads Mitsubishi Motors to record September sales

  • Mitsubishi wraps up third quarter of 2025 with 9,899 units sold
  • Outlander continues to be brand’s top-seller in Canada
  • 2026 model year lineup set to roll out this fall

MISSISSAUGA, ON, October 8, 2025Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada (MMSCAN) has released its third quarter 2025 sales results with total sales of 9,899 units, propelled by its best-ever month of September.

The brand and its dealer network sold 3,473 vehicles in September, which is a 14% over the previous month and a 3% increase over September 2024. Monthly sales were led by the refreshed 2025 Outlander, which set a new all-time sales record for the nameplate with 1,710 units sold in September. That represents a 130% year-over-year increase for the gas-powered Outlander.

For the third quarter of 2025, Outlander had Total Sales of 4,178 units while the flagship Outlander PHEV had sales of 2,319. RVR had sales of 2,016 units, Eclipse Cross sold 1,297 units, and Mirage, which ended production in December 2024, sold 89 units.

Mitsubishi Motors’ 9,899 units sold in Q3 represent a 7.8% decrease from Q2, and a 13.6% decrease over the same period in 2024, largely the result of the end of production for Mirage and continued uncertainty in the Canadian market around government rebates on electrified vehicles.

Looking ahead, MMSCAN has begun to roll out its 2026 lineup starting with the 2026 Eclipse Cross, which is now on sale at dealerships across the country. RVR will go on sale in the coming weeks. The 2026 Outlander ICE will arrive before the end of the calendar year with a new powertrain for 2026. Outlander PHEV will see a significant refresh with an updated battery, interior facelift including the Dynamic Sound Yamaha audio system that received accolades when it debuted in the 2025 Outlander, as well as updated driving dynamics and some exterior enhancements. It is expected to go on sale in the first quarter of 2026.
